SkinTyte II BBL HEROic

Standard BBL HEROic uses visible-light filters tuned to surface pigment and vascular targets. SkinTyte II is a longer-wavelength infrared mode delivered on the same Sciton platform — it bypasses surface pigment and delivers heat deeper into the dermis where collagen fibres live. The clinical goal is different: BBL HEROic CORRECTS pigment and redness at the surface, SkinTyte II FIRMS the deeper structural layer over time. The two can be paired in a single appointment for both effects.

A typical initial course is 3–5 sessions spaced 3–4 weeks apart. Maintenance is then once or twice a year. Like all collagen-stimulating treatments, results build progressively — visible firming is usually seen after the second or third session, with continued improvement for several months after the final session as collagen continues to remodel. Patients with significant laxity may benefit from combining SkinTyte II with a more intensive modality such as Morpheus8 rather than relying on SkinTyte II alone.

Each pulse delivers a brief, intense warmth — sometimes described as a hot pulse with cooling immediately after, thanks to the platform's integrated contact cooling. Most patients tolerate the full session without anaesthesia. The sensation is meaningfully warmer than standard BBL HEROic because the goal is deliberate, sustained dermal heating; the device targets a specific temperature endpoint at depth. SkinTyte II tends to be more forgiving on darker skin than standard visible-light BBL because the infrared wavelength is less melanin-absorbing — heat goes more directly to the dermal collagen rather than being intercepted by surface pigment. That said, all device-based treatments on Fitzpatrick IV–VI require tailored settings and pre-treatment assessment. Your practitioner will assess your skin type and may recommend an alternative such as Morpheus8 RF (which delivers energy by needle, fully independent of skin pigment) if that suits you better.

They are complementary tools. SkinTyte II is non-invasive, fully no-downtime, and ideal for mild-to-moderate laxity and prejuvenation; results build slowly through a course of sessions. Morpheus8 RF microneedling is more intensive — needles deliver radiofrequency energy at depths up to 8 mm — with 2–5 days of redness/pinpoint marks afterwards, but typically more dramatic results per session for moderate-to-significant laxity. Very little — most patients return to their day immediately. Mild warmth and a gentle flush are normal and fade within 1–2 hours.
