Body skin tolerates higher energy settings than facial skin, so per-session results on sun-damaged body areas can be more pronounced. The mechanism is the same: tiny fractional thermal columns create controlled micro-injury, stimulating renewal of tone and surface texture as the skin heals.

Autumn and winter months are clinically preferred for any body-area laser treatment, because the strict 2–4 weeks of sun avoidance post-treatment is much easier to maintain when ambient UV exposure is lower. The chest and arms in particular are exposed in summer clothing, which makes SPF protocol harder to adhere to. MOXI Body can be delivered year-round if you commit to broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily on the treated area and avoid direct sun exposure during recovery — but no beach holidays planned in the 2 weeks after treatment.

MOXI's 1927 nm wavelength is one of the more melanin-tolerant fractional laser options because the wavelength's primary absorption is by water in the skin, not by melanin. That said, body-area laser on Fitzpatrick IV–VI still requires careful assessment — your practitioner may recommend a test patch at the first appointment to verify your skin's response before treating larger areas. Energy settings are then calibrated accordingly. Patients with very dark skin or those with a history of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation may be better suited to Morpheus8 Body (RF microneedling, fully melanin-independent) instead.

Immediately after the session your skin will feel warm and look lightly sunburnt — typical for fractional laser. Within 24–48 hours the warmth subsides. Tiny dark spots called MENDs (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) appear over days 2–4 — these are the heated micro-zones working their way to the surface, and they flake off naturally on days 3–5 to reveal smoother, brighter skin. The "sandpaper" feel during this flaking phase is normal. Do NOT pick at the flakes — let them shed on their own. Full surface recovery is complete by day 5–7.

A typical initial course is 3–4 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart for the chest and arms, and 4–5 sessions for the back and legs (larger, more sun-damaged areas typically need more passes). Maintenance is then 1–2 sessions per year. Results build progressively across sessions — substantive tone improvement is usually visible after the second or third session, with continued refinement for several months after the final session as the skin continues to renew.

MOXI Body is one of the leading options for sun-damaged chest skin — particularly when the concern is uneven tone, mottled pigmentation, fine lines and surface crepiness combined. The 1927 nm wavelength addresses these surface-level concerns well. For DEEPER chest creases or structural laxity, MOXI alone won't be enough — those typically benefit from combining MOXI with skin boosters (such as polynucleotides or JuveLook/Lenisna) to restore deeper hydration and collagen, and sometimes with RF microneedling for collagen stimulation at depth.

MOXI Body can soften the visible appearance of stretch marks — particularly newer red/pink ones (striae rubrae) which respond more readily to laser intervention than older white/silver ones (striae alba). Several sessions are typically needed for visible improvement.
