Preparation for the treatment

    • Consultation with a healthcare professional. Schedule a consultation with a qualified trained practitioner who specializes in aesthetic or dermatological procedures. During the consultation, discuss your medical history, any existing health conditions, medications you are taking, and your expectations from the treatment;
    • Medical history and allergies. Provide a detailed medical history, including any allergies or sensitivities to medications, substances, or topical agents. This information is crucial in customizing the mesotherapy solution and ensuring the safety of the procedure;
    • Medication review. Inform the practitioner about any prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, or supplements you are currently taking. Certain medications, such as blood thinners, may need to be adjusted or temporarily stopped before the treatment to minimize the risk of bleeding or bruising;
    • Avoidance of blood-thinning substances. In the days leading up to the procedure, avoid substances that can thin the blood, such as aspirin and certain herbal supplements. This helps reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding during the injections;
    • Scalp preparation. Ensure that your scalp is clean on the day of the procedure. Avoid applying any hair products, oils, or styling agents to the scalp before the treatment. The healthcare professional may cleanse the scalp before the mesotherapy procedure;
    • Hydration. Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to the treatment. Proper hydration can contribute to overall skin health and may facilitate the healing process;
    • Avoid sun exposure. Minimize sun exposure to the scalp in the days preceding the treatment. Sunburn or excessive sun exposure may increase sensitivity and discomfort during the procedure;
    • Comfortable clothing. Wear comfortable clothing on the day of the procedure, especially if the treatment involves sitting for an extended period;
    • Adhere to any specific pre-procedure instructions provided by the practitioner. This may include guidelines on skincare, dietary restrictions, and other recommendations to enhance the success of the treatment.

Aftercare

    • Avoid touching or scratching. Refrain from touching or scratching the treated area for a specified period following the procedure. This helps prevent infection and ensures the proper healing of the injection sites;
    • Gentle hair washing. Wait at least 24 to 48 hours before washing your hair after mesotherapy. When you do wash your hair, use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo, and avoid vigorous scrubbing of the scalp. Pat the scalp dry instead of rubbing it;
    • Avoid intense physical activity. Limit strenuous physical activity, especially activities that may cause excessive sweating, for a few days post-treatment. Sweating can increase the risk of infection at the injection sites;
    • Sun protection. Protect your scalp from direct sunlight for a few days after the procedure. If sun exposure is unavoidable, wear a wide-brimmed hat or use a sunscreen with a high SPF to shield the treated area;
    • Avoid saunas and hot tubs. Steer clear of saunas, hot tubs, or other activities that involve prolonged exposure to heat for a few days after mesotherapy. Heat can increase blood flow to the scalp and may exacerbate swelling or bruising;
    • Moisturize the scalp. Depending on your practitioner provider’s recommendations, you may be advised to use a mild, hypoallergenic moisturizer on the treated area to keep the skin hydrated;
    • Follow medication guidelines. If prescribed any post-treatment medications, such as antibiotics or topical creams, ensure that you follow the instructions provided by your practitioner;
    • Avoid hair color and chemical treatments. Refrain from coloring, perming, or undergoing other chemical hair treatments for a specified period after mesotherapy. This allows the scalp to recover without additional stress;
    • Attend follow-up appointments. Keep scheduled follow-up appointments with your practitioner to monitor your progress and address any concerns or questions you may have;
    • Report any adverse reactions. If you experience unusual redness, swelling, pain, or signs of infection at the injection sites, contact your healthcare provider promptly. Early intervention can help prevent complications;
    • Patience with results. Results from hair mesotherapy may take some time to become apparent. Be patient and allow the hair follicles to respond to the treatment. Follow any long-term care recommendations provided by your practitioner.
