Preparation for the treatment

    2–4 Weeks Before Treatment

    • Avoid direct sun exposure on the treatment area;
    • Discontinue tanning (sunbeds, spray tans, bronzing creams);
    • Stop photosensitizing medications (if applicable and under physician guidance) such as:
    • Certain antibiotics (e.g., doxycycline);
    • Retinoids or isotretinoin (Accutane);
    • Avoid chemical peels, waxing, and aggressive exfoliation in the area to be treated.

    1 Week Before Treatment

    • Discontinue retinol or retinoid products on the treatment area;
    • Avoid blood-thinning agents to reduce bruising risk;
    • Ensure the skin is not irritated, inflamed, or broken.

    24–48 Hours Before Treatment

    • Hydrate well. Drink plenty of water to support healthy skin response.
    • Shave the treatment area, if applicable (especially for areas with dense hair) — do not wax.
    • Do not apply lotions, perfumes, deodorant, or oils to the treatment area on the day of the procedure.

Aftercare

    Immediately After Treatment

    You may experience:

    • Mild redness (like a sunburn);
    • Warmth or tingling in the treated area;
    • Slight swelling or sensitivity.

    These are normal and temporary, usually resolving within a few hours to 48 hours.

    First 24–72 Hours

    • Keep the skin clean and hydrated. Use a gentle, non-active cleanser and fragrance-free moisturizer;
    • Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and intense physical activity that causes excessive sweating;
    • Avoid scratching, picking, or exfoliating the treated area;
    • Do not apply makeup or perfumed body products to the treated area for at least 24 hours.

    Sun Protection Is Critical

    • Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 50+) daily—even indoors if the area is exposed;
    • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks after treatment;
    • Wear protective clothing and wide-brimmed hats when outdoors.

    Avoid for 5–7 Days Post-Treatment

    • Tanning beds or sunbathing;
    • Retinoids, glycolic acids, or exfoliants;
    • Waxing or chemical peels on treated areas;
    • Active skincare (vitamin C, acids, scrubs) unless recommended by your provider.
