Morpheus8 RF Burst Deep

About the treatment

What is it used for?

    • Deep tissue heating. The “Deep” aspect refers to targeting deeper layers of skin and subcutaneous tissue. It uses advanced radiofrequency energy to penetrate deeper into the skin compared to other methods;
    • Body contouring. It helps in reshaping and contouring various body areas by targeting and reducing localized fat deposits. This can lead to more defined body contours;
    • Skin tightening. Like other Morpheus8 treatments, it stimulates collagen production and tightens the skin, improving elasticity and firmness;
    • Cellulite reduction. The treatment can help in reducing the appearance of cellulite by tightening the skin and improving its texture;
    • Scar and stretch mark reduction. It can also be used to improve the appearance of scars and stretch marks by promoting collagen regeneration and improving skin texture.

Preparation for the treatment

    • Consultation and assessment:
      • Initial consultation: schedule a consultation with a qualified practitioner to discuss your goals, medical history, and any concerns. This helps determine if the treatment is right for you;
      • Skin assessment: your practitioner will evaluate your skin condition, areas of concern, and overall suitability for the treatment;
    • Avoid certain medications and supplements:
      • Blood thinners: avoid medications or supplements that can thin the blood, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and certain herbal supplements, as these can increase the risk of bruising or bleeding. Consult your healthcare provider about stopping these medications before the procedure;
      • Retinoids: if you use topical retinoids or other strong exfoliants, your practitioner may recommend discontinuing their use for a period before treatment to reduce skin sensitivity;
    • Skin care routine:
      • Gentle cleansing: use gentle skin care products in the days leading up to your treatment to avoid irritation;
      • Hydration: keep your skin well-hydrated. Drinking plenty of water and using a good moisturizer can help your skin prepare for the treatment;
    • Avoid sun exposure:
      • Sun protection: minimize sun exposure and use sunscreen to protect your skin from UV rays. Sunburned or tanned skin can be more sensitive and may increase the risk of complications;
    • Pre-treatment guidelines:
      • Avoid alcohol and caffeine: refrain from consuming alcohol and excessive caffeine in the days leading up to your treatment, as they can affect skin sensitivity and healing;
      • Shaving: if treatment is planned for an area like the legs or arms, make sure to shave the area the day before or the morning of the procedure to ensure a clean treatment surface;
    • Day of treatment:
      • Arrive with clean skin: on the day of your treatment, arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Avoid applying any lotions, creams, or makeup before the procedure;
      • Comfortable clothing: wear comfortable clothing, especially if the treatment area is large or located on the body.

Aftercare

    Immediate Aftercare (First 24-48 Hours):

    • Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area to prevent irritation and reduce the risk of infection;
    • Gently cleanse the treated area with a mild, non-irritating cleanser if instructed by your practitioner;
    • Apply a gentle, hydrating moisturizer to the treated area to keep the skin hydrated and help with the healing process;
    • Keep well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water;
    • Sun Protection:
      • Avoid direct sunlight. Stay out of direct sunlight and avoid tanning beds. The treated skin can be sensitive and prone to pigmentation changes;
      • Use sunscreen. apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher if you need to be outdoors. Reapply as directed;
    • Avoid Heat:
        • Avoid hot showers/baths. For the first few days, avoid hot showers, saunas, or hot tubs as heat can irritate the treated area;
        • Avoid intense exercise. Refrain from engaging in intense physical activities that may increase body heat and sweating.

    Short-Term Aftercare (First Week):

    • Monitor for side effects. Watch for redness and swelling. It’s normal to experience some redness and swelling. These symptoms should gradually improve within a few days;
    • Contact your practitioner if you notice unusual symptoms, such as severe pain, excessive swelling, or signs of infection;
    • Avoid harsh products. Steer clear of exfoliants, retinoids, and other harsh skincare products until your skin has fully healed;
    • Use gentle, non-irritating skincare products and follow any specific recommendations provided by your practitioner;
    • Avoid swimming, hot tubs, and other bodies of water that may expose your skin to bacteria.

    Long-Term Aftercare (Up to Several Weeks):

    • Continue to use sunscreen daily to protect your skin and prevent any potential pigmentation issues;
    • Schedule follow-ups. Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and discuss any concerns or additional treatments if necessary.
